5.6. Workplan Management (Team Managers)

Workplan management follows from Make Ready Planning and focuses on short-interval planning where team members make commitments and track progress against those commitments. This process is essential for measuring and improving execution reliability.
Users with Team Manager access or higher can create new workplans and finalize existing ones. The Team attribute is a key component in this process. It acts as a tag that groups related activities into workstreams, enabling them to be pull planned and tracked collectively.
Team membership is automatically assigned based on task tagging. If a user has tasks tagged with a specific team, they are considered part of that team.
A team should not be thought of as a trade, company, or discipline. Instead, it represents a group of related activities that need to be planned and tracked together. Here are some examples to help clarify what defines a team:
  • Design Planning: If you're planning design work only, all disciplines working on a specific package, or a group of related packages, can be considered part of the same team.
  • Fast-Track Construction: When planning fast-track construction, both design and construction tasks associated with a fast-track increment package can be grouped into the same team.
  • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): In AWP, all Installation Work Packages (IWPs) under a single Construction Work Package (CWP) can be grouped into one team. This allows them to be managed collectively and aligned with the path of construction.
