3.3. User Roles
Your assigned role in the vPlanner project determines what you can and cannot do in vPlanner. All tools are visible to all users, however, tools that are not accessible to your role will be grayed out. This setup enables users to be familiar with the interface so that the learning curve in minimal for a user to move to a higher role.
You can see your assigned role on the project tile on the Projects Page. After you open a project you will see your role at the bottom of the vPlanner main window on the status bar.
The highest level of access is granted to Site Administrators followed by Project Administrators and Production Managers. Those three account types are often called Premium Users. The lowest level of access is View Only. The following table defines the various abilities associated with each role in the system.
Premium users should review the section Site Users and Inviting New Users for information about setting up user accounts and assigning roles.
